First day: My jaw swelled up. From this point on, I thought, “This is not it.” I had plans with a friend, but I couldn’t cancel them and had to leave with my jaw still swollen. It wasn’t this bad last year, but I guess the effects really took effect this time, so I’m hopeful. My chin feels faintly hot, like I’ve suffered a mild burn . Second-Third day: My jawline swelled up to my cheekbones. I look like a retriever who’s been stung by a bee. When I’m expressionless, I look like Anpanman, and when I smile, my face looks like Toastie Man hung upside down. It’s just funny. No, actually, it’s not funny. It’s depressing. It hurts even if I just brush past it when I wash my face. I got Sculptra on my cheekbones, so I kept massaging it, but my chin was really cold, so I had to be really careful massaging it. Day 3-5: My face swelled up from 2.5 times the size of my face to about twice that. I was anxious, so I looked for articles about swelling, but there wasn’t any information, and I just didn’t want to look in the mirror. A yellow bruise formed and it hurt when I press on it. I started using bruise cream from this point on, but it didn't help at all.. I knew it but I was still grasping at straws lol Day 6-7: It's still square but I don't feel ugly. I don't know if my eyes have adjusted or if my brain is turning it into a defense mechanism and turning it into a hope circuit. I get really depressed when I take pictures. The mirror is better.. No, I don't even want to look in the mirror.. Is it true that the swelling lasts this long? I can't find any reviews. I just gave up lol I kept looking for square jaw surgery because I was slightly sick and gave up. Day 8-9: The swelling was about the same as the morning after eating ramen and sleeping. I think I'm getting better now. But if you look at the pictures from before I got it done, it still looks swollen. My face looks plumper because I got Sculptra under my cheekbone.. Day 10: I'm finally writing this with a calm mind. I look a lot more relaxed compared to a week ago lol But it still looks a little swollen compared to the old pictures. I didn't expect much in terms of effectiveness, and since I did it as a preventive measure, I didn't expect it to stick. This is for people like me who have mild swelling. After ten days, most of the swelling will go down and you'll be back to your previous state. You'll learn the art of waiting. Don't make an appointment for ten days. I'll come back in two months.
