First of all, the reason why I got double jaw surgery was because my long chin and resulting flat face had been stressful since I was young, and this external complex had really eroded my self-esteem, so I thought and decided that I needed to get double jaw surgery for a better future.
The reason I chose Y Oral Surgery was because I really liked the fact that they only performed one surgery per day, and while other hospitals only performed SSRO, I liked that the director of Y had different surgical methods depending on the patient's case. Also, he told me about the thickness of my jaw bone, which I had not heard about at other hospitals, and that I needed to have IVRO surgery to ensure the safety of the nerve line, which was very important to me. Since safety was a priority, I thought, "Oh, I should do it here," and made a decision on the day of the consultation.
That's how I made my decision on the day of the consultation. Two more months have passed since I had double jaw surgery and two types of contouring (square jaw and front jaw) on the 23rd of the month!
I removed the wafer and started rubber band correction in the first month :)
When I started rubber band correction, I told him that the screws on my lower teeth were digging into my gums and it was uncomfortable. After taking a look, he said that my gums were swollen and that I should remove them, so I removed just two of the screws on my lower teeth, but later they came back again. He said I could get it if I needed it!
When I took the wafer out, wow.. it was so refreshing..
I can talk more easily and when I eat outside, I just have to remove the rubber band! I thought it wasn't as uncomfortable as I thought,
but it wasn't. After
removing the wafers, I'm eating almost like a normal diet.
But I still need to be careful, so I'm avoiding chewy or hard foods as much as possible.
Perhaps since I've returned to a regular diet, I'm regaining the weight I lost
. My skin has recovered a lot,
but my gums and palate are still a little slow to recover. However, the doctor told me that this area will slowly return starting in 3 months, and the sensation in my palate is gradually returning, so I think it will all come back with time, so I'm not too worried.
And after the surgery, the muscles around your mouth feel stiff? Because of this, when I apply lotion every morning and evening, I massage and relax my muscles without overdoing it! I definitely feel like I feel less stiff when I relax my muscles.
I think my confidence has really improved after double jaw surgery. I used to have
a complex about the side lines of my face, but now I don't really mind if someone takes a picture from me or what they do. I actually ask people to take a picture of me. It's
asymmetrical. I didn't have high expectations because I was told from the first consultation that it would not be possible to completely control the condition,
but I am satisfied because it seems to have improved a lot compared to before the surgery. After recovering a lot, I gradually started meeting friends and I think I heard most people say that their facial expressions have become much cuter. Haha, and I think I've heard a lot of people say that there's something different about you!! Haha.
I was worried that my impression would change too much, but I'm glad that wasn't the case :)
The corners of my mouth seem to become more natural as time goes by, so I think they will continue to recover slightly for up to 6 months.
If you are looking at the reviews and it is the first week after surgery, don't worry because once the swelling goes down, you will never have that same face(?). If you use good compresses and walk a lot, the swelling will go down and your real face will appear, so just be patient and accept the changes and you will recover well. I hope you do :)
